Venice has a long tradition of mask wearing that dates back to around 1092 AD when they were first mentioned in an official document. During this time Venetian masks were not only worn for the carnival but also for many social events, to conduct business and to carry out love affairs in public without fear of recognition. The Venetian mask had many uses.
Our commedia dell arte mask range is second to none. We sell a superb variety of traditional Venetian improvisational theatre masks. This range, which is perfect for stage productions, includes La Bauta, Pulccinella, Zanni, Arlechino and the plague doctor "El Medico" to name but a few. We supply our commedia del arte masks as papier mache masks and leather masks.
